• Tell a good story.

• Teach. To give readers the background from which to begin to form an opinion about an issue in society. An opinion does not come from the gut – emotions do. Opinions must be based on fact and soul-searching.

• Start a dialogue. The back story will be controversial knowing readers will line up on different sides of the aisle. I want to challenge readers to question the status quo. The purpose is to get them talking with each other, not at each other.
